Research continues into paramusicological phenomena already explored in depth, including:

Music and telepathy
A new experiment is being devised in an attempt to eradicate some of the pitfalls of the previous sessions.

Musical mediums
Investigations of people claiming to receive music from deceased musicians are being instigated.

"Paranormal" music
Examples of music where no physical sound source is apparent are being studied.

Several new aspects of the subject have been introduced:

Musical regression
Analyses of the music people "hear" when in an altered state of consciousness and during near death experiences.

Musical healing
The ability of music to affect people in unknown ways e.g. direct healing as distinct from its well-attested therapeutic benefits.
