Music and Death: An exploration of the place music has at the time of human death, with special emphasis on the Near-Death experience.
Paranormal Review, April 2011, issue 58
This paper acknowledges that music is a particularly intangible art form in part because of its lack of visual expression.
It also confirms that studies concerning the near-death experience (NDE) are many and varied both for and against its origin and legitimacy.
The research is presented here in several sections. An introduction discusses the position of music in the broad realm of he paranormal and introduces briefly the arguments surrounding NDEs.
Historical and modern cases are explored where music has been experienced during a NDE and an overview of sources is presented - the bibliography and references are of importance for further study.
Discussion suggests what may be ascertained from the data.
